| How much
does it cost? |
Cost is dependant
on factors such as the number of items to be included in the
catalog and the number of different category types. Also each
catalog we produce is a turnkey solution which may be customized
to almost any degree desired. We therefore quote each project
on an individual
basis. |
| How many items can be included
in a catalog? |
The number of items that can be included
in any one catalog is theoretically unlimited.
|
| What kinds
of products can be included? |
Almost anything. But some types of products are better suited
than others to this type of electronic catalog. Items best
suited for catalogging are items which are available in a
large volume of different sizes, shapes, colors, or other
distinguishing features. Examples include (but are certainly
not limited to) cutting tools, fasteners, plumbing fittings,
electronic components, bearings, gears, pulleys, tires, etc.
|
| What type of computer is required? |
Any PC that is capable of running Windows
95 or later and has a CD-ROM drive. In order to directly transmit
orders the user will also need a properly configured e-mail
account or a fax/modem. |
| Does the user have
to insert the CD-ROM every time they use the catalog? |
No. All files needed to
run the catalog are installed on the user's hard drive.
The CD-ROM is used for distribution only. |
| How much free hard drive space is required? |
This depends on the number of items in the
catalog. A catalog with 100,000 items will require about 50
MB. |
| Can end users (customers)
place orders from the catalog? |
Yes. As users find items
they wish to purchase, they may compile them into an order.
Once their order is complete, they simply click on the Transmit
button and their order is automatically transmitted
to you via e-mail or fax. |
| Can end users include non-stock or special-order
items on the same order as standard catalog items? |
Yes. The catalog allows the user to enter
in any item via part number and/or description by simply
typing the information into their order.
|
| Do users who often
order the same items repeatedly have to search for them each
time they wish to purchase them? |
No. The catalog
features a "Favorites" list, which can be used to
save frequently ordered items for later retrieval. Any items
which you carry but are not listed in the catalog may also
be saved in this manner for future ordering. |
| Can the catalog be downloaded or trasmitted
to users electronically? |
Because of the large size of the data files,
it is not practical to download or receive the catalog electronically.
Updated data files and updates to the program
itself may be trasmitted electronically, however. |
| What if end users try it and decide
it's not for them? |
A complete uninstall utility is provided
which will remove the catalog from the user's hard drive. |
